We have Newts too !

Welcome to Valley View Farm, we are so fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful walks in the Somerset Mendips, apple orchards, country farms and farm shops, not to mention the quaint villages that dot these rolling hills, it is the most idyllic setting. However; we are most excited about our NEWTS !

We have a small pond below the veranda, and for the past several years, more and more newts have been calling it home. I have identified three types of newts including the Great Crested Newt which is protected in the UK. So now I usually spend my morning coffee time on the steps watching my friends swim around and hide under rocks and logs. I hope they stay with us and our Bed and Breakfast guests enjoy them as much as I do. FYI… did you know a newt can live up to 25 years !

Colleen runs the very popular Valley View Farm bnb, in Batcombe Somerset, with Mart’s help. Apart from their relentless ongoing improvement programme, and keeping everything running smoothly for all the PG’s (paying guests) comfort and enjoyment, Colleen is often preparing packed lunches for the day and cooking delicious kitchen suppers too.

Having been in hospitality most of her adult life, whether hotels, restaurants or resorts, she knows the game. Mart is a seasoned builder with a keen designers eye for the aesthetics of a place.

Together they plan to evolve VVF into a wonderful secluded escape from the city, and over time offer all manner of activities and indulgence.
